First of all, we have announced the name of our third studio album set to release later this summer... "Wartooth" will feature a bunch of songs we've been working on for the last year plus. Two of these songs have been played out at live shows: "Alone" and "Move." Both have been well received and will make for great representations of our true selves on the album!
With the announcement of the new album's name, we released a limited edition "Wartooth" Tee that is only available through the band. Check out our Facebook page to claim yours now as they are going fast (already out of 3XLs!)... Yesterday, the announcement was made that we'll be playing Epic Music Showcase 2020 alongside our friends in the American Hitmen! Also on the bill are St. Louis rockers Sixes High and Outrun the Fall. Going to be a truly EPIC show as we'll be raising money for National Fallen Firefighters Foundation again this year! Mark your calendars for August 22! Check out our "Shows" tab for more info. Ok. That catches everyone up... For now! Be sure to follow us on all our social media outlets to stay up to date! Instagram- @officialnowake Twitter- @NOWAKEmusic Facebook- facebook.com/nowakemusic We've officially begun the recording process for NOWAKE album III with Scott Donegan and his protege, Clay... and typically we like to "lay low" through this process. BUT, we just couldn't help but to make these following HUGE conert announcements: MAY 23, 2020 - QUIET RIOT, BLACKFOOT AND MOLLY HATCHET PLUS MORE!
We're stoked to be able to play alongside such iconic rock bands! Check out our "SHOWS" page for more details and links. We have fallen victim to the old "we don't have time update our website" routine! All good though. Here is an early 2020 update!
We recently played Pop's venue in Sauget, IL (just across the river from downtown St. Louis) and it was a great time! We look forward to playing there again soon. We used a few of photographer Jason Wilson's pics to update this site, so look around for them! We're currently working on our third studio album! We'll look to have at least 6 of our best songs recorded and mastered by our good friend Scott Donegan and hope to release the album this spring or early summer. Two of the songs that will be on the album have been played out at recent shows. "Move" is a high energy tune by Sean that starts fast-paced and hits you right in the jaw with a sudden "grunge" feel. Think Alice in Chains or Soundgarden sneaking up and robbing you before you notice... The other song you may have hear if you've been to any recent shows is Austin's song, "Alone." It has a certain "alt rock" vibe while mixing in some great lead guitar riffs by our man, Austin. Look for these two to be highlighted on the upcoming album! Ok, let's not make a habit of forgetting to update the website, alright? LOL For all things NOWAKE, remember to follow us on our main social media accounts: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter PLUS Spotify, YouTube and wherever else we're sneaking around these days... -out Since our last website post, we have blown past 30,000 Spotify plays and played a cool show at South Fork Dirt Riders near Taylorville, IL that featured Discrepancies, Alborn, Common Jones and From Ashes Reborn. Oh, and we hit one of the Springfield, IL IHops preeettttyyy hard after... Now that you're caught up, here we go [takes deep breath]: We are ready to ROCK at New London Park Days on Friday, May 31! We'll play from 5-7:30 and it's free to get in. Following us, our friends Ryan Bramblett and Scott Donegan (who recorded/produced our last album) will be playing as an acoustic duo at the beer garden. Be sure to catch them! Midwest Music Mayhem announced the bands that will perform at Epic Music Showcase 2019: SAUL, Discrepancies, The Many Colored Death, Inner Outlines and yours truly! The date for EMS19 is August 17th an money raised will go to National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The event will take place at Hannibal POPS Club just south of Hannibal on Highway 61. Make plans to attend! We will be playing a two-fer in July with our good friends in American Hitmen! We will play at Heartland Harley-Davidson in Burlington, IA on July 27th starting at 1pm. The Hitmen will follow. Then, on July 28th, we'll bring them back to our hometown of Hannibal, MO for another Sunday afternoon show at Finn's Food & Spirits. We'll kick things off at 4pm and they'll follow. Every time we've done this, it's been very well attended and people are always asking when we will bring them back... So, here we go again! Should be a very fun weekend. Ok, that's it. For now! To keep up with EVERYTHING we have going on, be sure to like us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter! We are proud to announce that Mark VanWinkle will be our new drummer! He comes with years of on stage experience and has been credited as a song writer as well. He brings a lot to the table and we can't wait to officially start this next chapter of NOWAKE with him on board! Welcome him to the family when you see him!
His first show with us will be on January 5th when we play at Dugout Bar & Grill in Mexico, MO. After almost 11 years with the band, AJ decided to step down as drummer. He helped to form the band in 2007 and laid the foundation of what has become NOWAKE. We, as a band and as friends, have had lots of highs and lows and we persevered through it all. His drum work on 2014's "Getaway" and 2017's "An Act of Defiance" will be forever cemented in the band's history. As of late, he informed us that his heart just wasn't into it anymore and that's understandable. We wish him the best in all his future endeavors. Thanks AJ!
With that being said, we have worked hard since receiving this news in October and will be making an official announcement later tonight as we will be playing our next show on January 5th with our newly unveiled drummer. Stay tuned! |
