We are very happy to announce the COMPLETION of our upcoming album, An Act of Defiance! Thanks to Scott Donegan (our producer for this album), we will be officially releasing on May 5th, 2017 and will have an Album Release Party on May 13th. This will take place at the Mark Twain Brewing Company alongside two additional rock bands, Dark Below and Capisce. This show will be an awesome time and we will have lots of copies of the new album as well as merch to get your hands on too!
We will be on the Rock Paper Podcast later this month in support of the new album release. Be sure to check it out by clicking the link in blue above and show Shane Presley some love for all that he does for local music!
Also, we will be featured in Central Mo News later this month as well. Included will be an in-depth interview with Sean about the music on the new album. Go check this page out as well as they bring lots of attention to bands in the Missouri area.
We hope that you all really enjoy the album as much as we have enjoyed recording it. It's a labor of love and it's what we love to do! It will be for sale iTunes, CDBaby, Amazon MP3, as well as a lot of other places. And don't forget, you can get it in CD form from any of us at the Album Release Party or any time afterwards by contacting us.
As we start this new year, we wanted to give an update on everything we've got going on. Here's what's up with NOWAKE:
We are closing in on completion of the studio portion of our upcoming album (entitled "An Act of Defiance"). Our producer, Scott Donegan, has done some amazing things with our tracks and we cannot wait to release it! We have tested out a few of the songs at recent shows (Fubar in St. Louis and the Mark Twain Brewing Co. show). We've gotten some great feedback and we know you will all love this album as much as we do!
We are currently locking in on some big shows in the Hannibal and Columbia regions with a few more on the wings as well... Possibly in the St. Louis area and others! We will be making those announcements on our Facebook page in the coming weeks and will get them up on the "Shows" page shortly after.
Overall, we find it hard to believe that 2017 will mark our 10TH YEAR AS A BAND! We've played for some great crowds, rocked alongside some amazing bands, and made some great friends along the way.
Here's to another great year, NOWAKE Nation!
Thanks for all your support and stay tuned for new on the album release this winter!
We have begun working on the next album! We have a graphic designer working on the album artwork and everything is coming together as it should! Look for big updates regarding this sophomore EP in the coming weeks! To us, the material sounds like a mix of Breaking Benjamin, Rev Theory, Velvet Revolver, and Godsmack. But, we really can't wait to hear the feedback from YOU! Thanks for supporting us over the years so we can achieve these big milestones!
Quick catch up session:
We recently rocked Fubar in St. Louis, MO. We got to play in the rain at L-Treyns in Keokuk, IA. Both were debuts for us at those locations and we hope to play them both again once the new album drops!
Be sure to catch us alongside our brothers in rock, Flatftoot Reed, and St. Louis giants, Fivefold, this November at the Mark Twain Brewing Company (more details to come)!!!
As August winds down, we reflect on this summer of '16. It's been a great one with some great gigs! But now, we will be FINALLY hunkering down and recording this next album! We've got 5 of 6 songs ready to go and with a little more work, song 6 will get the green light as well! Stay tuned, NOWAKE Nation!
Here are the highlights in a nutshell:
We rocked Boonville, MO last month!
We introduced some new merchandise on our online store. Visit it here - http://www.zazzle.com/nowake_online_store
We are still working on polishing off our new music before entering the studio. Songs like "Redline" and "Midway" are guaranteed to make the album!
We'll be traveling to Marceline, MO and Bowling Green, MO in August to bring our brand of rock to new people! Check out the "Shows" page to get more info.
See you all soon,
Your friendly, neighborhood rock-n-rollers
To make a quick update even quicker, Sean is back on the grid officially (after a few weeks wandering around the state of MO) and the band is still writing new songs for the album and booking some shows in new areas! Check out our "Shows" tab to see where we'll be.
We've got the hookup for your summer merchandise needs as well, of course. From t-shirts to coozies, hit us up for some quality stuff all while supporting the band!
Coozies are one for $3 or two for $5
All shirts are $15 (Currently have all sizes available in the gray American Flag design and various sizes available in other remaining designs)
Whoa. Did we just hit fast forward into March? Pretty sure this year just started and now we're warming up to the 70's and talking summer gigs and whatnot.
So we're coming off a few great shows here as of late - The American Legion show with George Cate and the ONE show with Flatfoot Reed. Both were great shows. We love hanging out with George. He's an incredible artist. And this Saturday night's show at ONE was a blast as well. Those guys from FFR really bring it! Their dedication to ONLY play original music live is quite commendable. I think we would love to get to that point sometime to where we aren't cranking out an 80/20 mix of cover songs to original songs. But, there is definitely something to say about having a room full of people singing along with a cover tune. That just feels great!
So now what? We have nothing "official" on the books until May. What's in May you ask? Well, just one of the greatest outdoor shows we are privileged to be a part of every year, that's all! We can't wait to hit the stage at Epic Music Showcase '16 not only because it's ALWAYS a great time, but we get to play alongside the one and only American Hitmen! We are stoked! Also playing that day are local acoustic greats Zeke Cernea and Liz Bentley. The day is going to be a total blast and we can't wait!
So, there might be a surprise show or two between now and then, but we will be continuing the music writing process for sure. We are in talks with possible recording locations and are excited about the music we'll be putting on the follow up EP to the May '14 release of Getaway.
Stay tuned, folks!
2016 is here. We have been "off the grid" so to speak for a little while working on new music. Trying to put all of our musical ideas into each song is king of like wrangling cats at times. So many ideas! We're proud to say that we'll be unveiling a brand new original this Saturday at The State Room in Quincy, IL! There's just something about playing an original song for the first time for an audience. It's kind of indescribable, really. Sometimes, you think it'll be a trainwreck and it blows people's minds. Sometimes, you just know it'll be their new favorite songs and it sinks like the Titanic. You just never know.
Other news includes the merch sale that we're running right now. All in stock shirts are just $12! And when we say all, we mean all. We've got short sleeve, 3/4 sleeve, long sleeve, etc. Limited sizes remain so message us, email us, or catch us at a show to get yours! See below to view some of the remaining designs.
We're currently filling the books with shows for the year. So far, we've got shows in Quincy, IL, Hannibal, MO, and a Boonville, MO festival as well. We look forward to seeing some familiar faces out there as well as making some new friends!
Here's to a great year, everyone!
